Jennifer Cook-Battersby

I’m a full-time artist working from my home-based studio and gallery, where I create original oil paintings inspired by Aotearoa’s native birds, flora, and landscapes. While oil is my preferred medium, I also enjoy working with ink, acrylic, watercolour, gouache, charcoal, textured mediums, and encaustic (hot wax), allowing each piece to evolve through layers of experimentation and detail.

My creative practice has extended beyond the easel to include design collaborations for businesses and organisations, as well as artwork developed for merchandise and interiors.

With more than 20 years of painting experience, I exhibit regularly throughout New Zealand, and my artworks are held in public and private collections both here and overseas.

My studio is open by appointment or during selected open weekends. Visitors are welcome to view my collection of original paintings, limited edition prints. Giclée prints of selected artworks are also available to purchase through my website.

I also welcome commissions and enjoy creating bespoke works that reflect the unique beauty and spirit of New Zealand’s natural world.

I like to paint in series as I always think there are a lot of stories to tell, and no subject is ever really complete.
